Token Metrics Trading API Staking Model
Token Metrics introduces a stake-to-access model for the Data API. By locking up TMAI tokens for a specified duration, you gain a Staking Score (veTMAI) that determines your tier. Each tier includes a monthly allowance of Data API calls, an ongoing subscription fee, and a set overage rate once you exceed that allowance.
In this hybrid approach:
- veTMAI Required: The minimum TMAI stake (locked) to achieve the tier.
- Monthly Fee: A recurring payment for platform access and maintenance.
- Data API Calls per Month: The monthly quota tied to your tier.
- Overage: A per-call charge if you exceed your monthly API quota.
- In Dollar Amount: An approximate valuation of the staked tokens (for reference only).

How It Works
- Stake TMAI: Lock the required tokens to gain a veTMAI score.
- Pay Monthly Fee: Each tier has a set monthly payment.
- API Usage: Enjoy your monthly call allotment. Track usage via the dashboard.
- Overage: If you exceed your quota, pay a per-call overage fee.
This staking mechanism rewards long-term token holders with higher-tier benefits, seamless API access, and the flexibility to handle additional usage on demand. It also complements other Token Metrics features, such as Trading Agent discounts (see Table 5), ensuring that both active traders and data-driven users can benefit from deeper engagement across the Token Metrics ecosystem.
